America the land of obesity and greed
Mean and morally bankrupt in the face of world poverty
Ever ready to eagerly attack a foreign country
Rednecked and rabidly racist
Ignorant and parochial to a sickening degree
Canada's ugly Southern neighbour
Arrogant and self-opinionated
Narrow-minded and bigoted to the Nth degree.
Mean and morally bankrupt in the face of world poverty
Ever ready to eagerly attack a foreign country
Rednecked and rabidly racist
Ignorant and parochial to a sickening degree
Canada's ugly Southern neighbour
Arrogant and self-opinionated
Narrow-minded and bigoted to the Nth degree.

I say!
It's a bit strong, isn't it? I mean to say, well, there might have been negative things you could say: the bland assumption that everyone lives in the US of A, getting the date wrong, inserting American heroes in battles and incidents where there were none, (watch out for the last Kings of Tara), and the continual production of lists of 'The 100 most famous sportsmen in the world', most of whom turn out to be unknown men from unknown sports. But such a diatribe, no, no,no good

-
Wow. This is just flat out mean and untrue. Maybe there's people that are like this in America but that's true no matter what country you're looking at. In every society there are good and bad people and I think it's wrong to lump everyone together like that.

You know, you really disappoint me. I thought you were a nicer person. You write a really offensive poem bashing where I am born and raised. And yet I still take a very dipolmatic tone and leave a comment. Then you insult me again and rate it at 0, taking away points.
How can you look at yourself in the mirror when you insult an entire culture of diverse people and are disrespectful towards your readers that took their time to read your work and comment? I'll tell you right now that I will never read anything by you again. -
-
I am delighted by your reply. I love your use of the word "disrepectful". It made me do a poo in my trews with laughter. I am overjoyed you will never read anything else I write. I am happy to look in the mirror as I am hugely attractive.

I really love this! Its all true too. America isnt the best of places to live now a days with war and such. Great write keep on penning!

Hey, there ain't nothin rong with being a Redneck, it's them Yuppies that've gotten us in trouble; and don't go saying Shrub (Bush) is a Redneck nighther, he's a no good Yuppie Redneck if anythang.

-
How charmingly illiterate you are. I love your golliwog avatar.
-
-
Not so, peter breath; and I ain't no bigoted CaNAD that can't spell "ninth" (9th) none neither!.....uuuurrrrpppp - Yee-haaaaww.
-
-
Well, dear golliwog, Nth doesn't mean "ninth". It means Nth. If you don't understand the term, that is no surprise to me.
-
-
Yep, I found'er alrighnty; pretty much means "whatever," but I don't speak the language of you African American hating fascists anyway.
-
-
You don't speak much English anyway from what I can see? Are you African?

Well it's a big country and I'm sure you could find a few examples of every statement you've made here but I think your point of view is tad myopic my friend. Besides, as history teaches us, America is an amalgum of immigrants from every point on the globe. So most likely you're bashing your own ancestry as well. By the way, who the hell wants to live in Canada?
Sincerely,
Leo Long

Is it an amalgam as well?

Yow!
Another poet who tells it like it is!
Forgive me for pointing this out but an acrostic means that the first letter of the entire title is used in the poem.
It took me a while to even totally get what an acrostic should be.
I'm a writer, but don't know all the different styles of poetry there are & am here to learn!
You nailed all the flaws of this country to the nth. degree as you so aptly put it! Did I note your from Ireland? Is this your Irish ire coming out?
All the best in the contest!

Terrible
This is extremely offensive. That is so not what America is. You don't like the country and live here anyway? Get the hell out. Don't like the country and don't live here? Shut the hell up. God, I hate America-bashers. This is by far the worst "poem" I have read on this website. It is unpoetic and ugly, rude, ignorant, and untrue. Just shut up! -
-
I just noticed your ill-mannered and offensively rude comment. You make me sick.
-
-
I make YOU sick? You absolutely disgust me! You're poem is offensive, and I offended YOU? Get real! And I can't believe your fellow America-bashing idiots agree with you! You're in Ireland? Strange, I'm Irish, and I don't agree.
One more thing: It's funny, isn't it? The Irish came here and worked and made this country great. I will admit, it has faded, but because of the government, not the population! Get your facts straight, man! -
-
? You are Irish, you claim. Yet you say (and I quote)"Strange, I'm Irish, and I don't agree. One more thing: It's funny, isn't it? The Irish came here and worked and made this country great." So what you are saying is the Irish came to Ireland and made it great. How unusual a concept that is.
Yeeho, paddy-o.

Very nice let me see....
Arrogant and self-opinionated
Narrow-minded and bigoted to the Nth degree.
Well I think that sums up some things for me
