A memory, is that what you want?
I have plenty, but there is one that truly stands out
I hope you weren’t looking for one that would make you smile and laugh, because this one doesn’t.
Long ago I remember…
A police mans hand on my shoulder,
As he lead us to his squad car.
A woman screaming and fighting,
I guess trying to get to me and my brother.
A feeling in the pit of my stomach,
I knew I would never see her again.
It’s my real mother I’m writing about,
She wasn’t the best of a parent.
She didn’t take very good care of us.
Now I remember…
The police man’s words of comfort,
Trying so hard to keep me from crying.
How my mother never really liked me much anyway,
She wouldn’t mind us gone from her life forever.
A feeling of content and calmness,
My life was now at ease.
I think I can smile when I look back at this memory now.

Not all memories are good and I've no stimulation of what kind of memory you pen for the contest. This is very good, I can see how it lingers. Great piece
