Crazy times

These days are crazy,
but haven't they always been,
seems the younger are older now, then we,
from way back when,
I see it and don't know how to get thru,
jus bein' a witness to, I see it as a sickness spreadin' thru-
out our land, not sure how to stop it, but I'll raise up my hand-
in support, cuz it can get much worse,
hear what i'm sayin' man,

times is hard and they only gonna get harder,
if we don't influence direction,
we're the only ones who control our futures protection,
it's like our nation is fightin' a relentless infection,
can't get away from the disease, wheres the prevention,
haven't we yet learned our lesson,
who would of thought our generation, would have to survive a recession,
and I fear a depression,
it's right around the corner if we don't do something,
no one else is gonna support our lady liberty,
standin' in a bay holdin' up the symbol of liberty, freedom and the pursuit of happiness,
if we don't demand change, we have no room to complain about all the crappiness,
that surrounds us, it's our nation, our land, our people,
government isn't pullin' their weight,
how much longer will we, just sit and wait,
till shit gets so hot,
it may be to late, to participate,
when will we understand that all folks, with one another can relate,
we're all from the same place,
sharin' the same space, and in all honesty all belong to the same race,
all flesh and bone, all born with a heart and soul,
we can do it, if we want to regain control,
but to accomplish this, there's certain shit we must learn to let go,
if we even have a chance at achieving our goal.
