Quiet and gentle,
She offers her generosity without expectation.
Subtle and thought provoking,
She gives you a string of wise words to feast on.
Independent and willing,
She longs for your hearts acceptance.
Smiling and laughing,
She is unaware of the life of an addict.
Independent and kind,
Her parents taught her well.
Destruction is not her mask,
While she sets out to conquer her future.
Naive and unwilling,
Her body remains untouched.
Like a new fawn enjoying a days frolic,
She does not understand the meaning of difficult.
Quiet and gentle,
She wears her heart atop her flesh.
Happy and content,
She is in love with the life she lives.
Her eyes portray innocense,
While her heart shines with its endearment.
Smiling and free,
She'll never know of addictions deathly grip.
Author notes
this is written of myself. I am currently an addict. I smoke marijuana every night, all night. and whenever I can, all day.
I am never without the cure thats become my life.
I can only wish that what is written above, were the truth.

This is an amazing piece that i feel flowed very well and i can find it easily relatable. I'm sorry you have that problem. Though it's only a problem if it's effecting you or others in a negative way. Then again, having an addiction really isn't healthy. But, i'm definitly here for ya babe! -huggles-

First off, kudos for presenting your lie in your "author notes" creatively.
On line 21, you wrote "innocense," but I think you meant "innocence." Nothing against you, though. We all make typos!
I liked the repetitive format that you used when describing what "she" felt. It worked strongly in this poem.
It's nice to know that a druggie entered my contest. You'll be too stoned to know how well you do! Haha. Thanks for the entry.
