Dreams are all I have of you when I try to sleep at night.
I wrap myself in fancy, each time I turn out the light.
In the infinite hours of darkness, I close my eyes to pretend
that no miles separate us and the wait has come to an end.
I become love's helpless slave, hostage to every warm sensation
prisoner of my impassioned thoughts, captive of my imagination.
Held tight in your arms, I drown in the molten sea of your eyes,
falling off the edge of nothing, naked love with no disguise.
Hungry lips that meet in a kiss, melts ice inside my heart,
sweet erotic splendor that tears my soul apart.
Then comes the morning light and the truth I do not want to see.
I face another day without you, and another night of fantasy.

Oh wow... This is just lovely. So very emotional, weaving beauty along the hem of sadness. Each line so poignant and touching to the heart. Great write my dear!

Aww.. that last line really got me.. sigh...
THis is beautifully done for that prompt... such yearning and desire for someone that is not there.

soft sensual love ... if only a fantasy
through your words here
could melt any heart made of ice
the flow and rhyme were so divine.

Good Lord! We should all be so lucky as to experience such emotions as these. You have captured the elusive "thing" that poetry needs to be successful. I am merely a student but I know what I like. And this is it! Best wishes for the contest.
