Rolling down this dusty road,
I travel lonely.
The savage corridors
of white lines
blur reality in to oblivion.
Endless,
going nowhere,
going everywhere.
Roaming before the days
that would bring butterflies
and patches of green with red
to adorn her beauty.
Next thing I know
she is sittin’ beside me.
Pulling back her crimson locks.
Toes a shade of scarlet,
propped up on my dash.
Emerald eyes peeking up
at me from behind her shades.
She sings into the wind,
The Stones blaring across our souls.
Feeding me rainbows as
we drive into the sun.
She knows the marshmallows
are my favorite part.
A field of strawberries,
far as my heart can see.
She’s running through them
before the engine is off.
I run after her,
following her giggles across
endless hills of blossoms.
I’ll wave my hand
over the field and make
a strawberry tree just for her.
She'll have the only one
in the world. People will come
from far and wide to see
the girl with the strawberry tree
and the sun filled smile.
We feed each other strawberries,
until even the fireflies stop dancing.
On that perfect summer night.
Back on the road...
She drifts off in my lap-
Scarlet toes back on the dash.

This is so full of life and color, you hear her giggles, see her eyes glisten as she peeks through the top of her shades. Beautiful nature imagery. "endless hills of blossoms" and "feeding me rainbows as we drive into the sun"

A symphony of color and sound.
It has a life...this poem.
It is happening as you read it,
the rage of the wild road melts into a sentious dream of smiles and laughter and wind blown hair...
like an angel on the highway taking away the glaze of endless miles...maybe a dream or a mirage... but this weary traveler has been saved by a vision.
