She stood upon the edge of life. Her hands were shaking. In her hands she held onto a photo. It’s ink running. Patterns of wild lines, artistically made by the skies tears.
She stood in the clearing shadowed by the tall old oaks and plants of nature. Shadowed by her own sorrow. Shadowed by her own pain. Every day was exactly the same. School, home, bed. She used to believe she was a somebody. But her dream was shattered. She used to speak out but now kept quite as she was being eaten from the inside. She was a totally different person. One moment in time shattered her. No warning to tell her off it. Perhaps that’s what she found hardest to take. Everything was normal. Then like a flash her world was flipped upside down.
Her tears continued to role down her face. Each tear telling a story.
She wondered what he was like. Did he torment himself every day? She thought about that a lot but always came up with the same answer, “No.” He was wanting somebody else now. She wanted him to have somebody else. She thought it would help. Perhaps, she thought, if I see him with another I will learn to let go.
Sure she had attempted to get over it at every chance she could. But seeing his gental face every day at school made her heart flip with joy then sweep a wave of sorrow back onto her shoulders. Every night crying herself to sleep cursing herself with having to fall for love. Fall in love with a perfect guy. A boy that was a knight in shining armour. The king of her heart. The prince to her wishes. Her first kiss. Her closest friend. The keeper of her secrets. Perhaps she needed him to much. Every day was harder than the last now. She wanted the ground to swallow her up.
Her mind could remember snippets of what happened in the best year of her life. Looking into his eyes as she held him and he held her back. Going to the cinema and smiling as he laughed at a joke. Receiving her first kiss as she looked up into his blue eyes in the darkness of her room. Being held by him under the stares at school. Her kissing spontaneous and him asking what it was for. The first time he said he loved her. Poem’s about how much she loved him. Him sleeping over on new years day and walking home in the dark holding his hand. Crying with worry as he went on holiday always fearing he would forget about her.
But he had forgotten about her. She no longer was his friend. He broke her heart and left her out to die. The next day at school was the hardest for her. Bullying was nothing compared to that. Remarks and comments whilst inside she was dieing and fighting back all but a few tears that were discreetly wiped away. Being asked out after that day she said yes in confusion.
She made nasty comments to the lover of her life that destroyed every last hope she could possible have for holding him again and being told she was loved by him. If she could take it all back she would without a second thought. All she wanted was him. Him and only him. Nobody else. Never anybody else. She clung onto others in the fear of being forgotten. She clung onto text messages that he had sent her that she still tortured herself with hoping beyond hope that a miracle would happen and that he would perhaps take an interest in her again. But he wanted another girl. She would never be able to hold him. No longer be able to kiss him and spill out every wish to him.
He was the most perfect guy in the world. The man of her dreams. Blond hair and blue eyes. A relaxing scent. A wonderful smile. A brain to challenge many people. An original music taste. A man with a good sense of humour. An interesting person. An interesting personality. A listener and a talker. Somebody to give help. An inspiration.
If she could have one wish in the world it would be that he would hug her. But that’s never going to happen. As he will probably never even know this was written about the person she loves. And I will always love……

"Each tear telling a story." <-- favourite line out of the whole composition.
Congrats on the trophies that you won for this, they are deserved -
It is absolutely heartbreaking .. and so tragic!
My one suggestion would be to put more gaps between the paragraphs, just to make it easier to read, and I think that this would make it more powerful to read also!
Thanks for entering

A sad tale of unrequited love... Often we fall deeply for people that don't even know we exist. Strangely its all part of the learning curve of life that prepares us for the next step in the mine field of dating. You have captured a slice of your youth that one day you will look back on with fond memories and smile at the insecurity that being a teenager brings...
