What Went Wrong With America

Missing image
A super power, and world-renowned entity.
America is the beautiful home of the brave.
The land of opportunity, and a virtual
melting pot of cultures, dreams, and religions.
But what went wrong in the evolution of
this great country of ours? Was it the fact that
it was stolen from a peaceful indigenous people
more then 300 years ago, and now through karma
we are getting our fair dues? Is it because we as
a nation are only as strong as our weakest link?
That link being the epitome of a spoiled
retarded sloth child. Is it because of our 'God'
quest to prove to the world that our methods
of governing and trading are better than theirs?
Or have we lost our way and forgotten what it was
that we set out to discover in the first place?

Here is a fact, the American Indians showed early
Americans settlers how to survive by teaching them
how and what to grow. Where were suitable habitats
to build homes in, and we repaid them by
giving them barren land to live upon? Killing
their food supply, and murdering them at
random and in large massing. Because, we know
very little about true respect outside of our
own best interests. When the going gets going,
that is. (Ghost dance, Wounded knee etc...)

When did it become America's responsibility
to rid the world of evil? And how is that any
different than what Hitler, or Napoleon, attempted
to achieve through Imperialism, propaganda, fear,
genocide, and an acute manipulation of power?
Unfortunately, it's likely all of these things,
and then some. In fact, the list doesn't improve
from there it gets even worse. What's the real
cut and dry difference between Capitalism and
Socialism when you really get down to the knitty -
- gritty of it all. And does the bottom man get a fair
shot either way? Are they based, both, only on the
upper classes' best opportunistic financial endeavors?
Or equally balanced to cater to both ends?

Imagine policing the world for weapons of
mass destruction? When, so far, America
is the only nation so far to drop an atomic weapon
to date. America is responsible for creating the blue
prints to 99% of all weapons of mass destruction
that have ever existed, to date?
How could we teach the Iraqis how to make
biological agents back in the late 70's
(Because we wanted them to use it against Iran,
and they did along with their own people)
For us to turn around and persecute them for it now
seems a bit high strung?

Did you know 130,000 Japanese died at Hiroshima
alone? Not counting the blast to Nagasaki?
That's not even taking into account the effects that it had
on birth abnormalities, and other natural ecological
losses from the radiation and blast range scarring?
Let alone the spiritual and psychological damage?
(Just visit Japan to see what I mean, they're
all completely nuts trying to absorb and imitate us).

As a citizen of this nation, and a son of her ways...
Am I not too responsible for the rising tide of contempt
that the rest of the world now holds against America?
Yes, I am, and so is each and every citizen both
on, and off, her majestic shores. Why, one
might ask? Well, for starters, America holds the
largest collection of undereducated self
proclaimed know it all's that the world has ever
seen massed together. Where else can you breed
Bill Gates and Rodney King all under the same roof?
Go from Silicon Valley to Death Valley in the
blink of an eye. Buy crack, finish a business meeting
early, fuck your mistress at the Four Seasons, and
still find a few spare minutes to order Chinese?
All in a couple square miles by cellular phone.

It is common knowledge that Americans are greedy,
narrow sighted, and ridiculously pretentious without
fair reason, or even an objective. A nation where
two thirds of its occupants still believe the earth
was created a couple thousand years ago. Yet some
how consider ourselves a mold for others to follow.
A mold to break all molds. The cream of the crop.
The word 'ironic' can't even begin to describe our
current position on world wide political debates.
When does a child get too big for its britches?
Guess what, take a look at America, and that's when.

With misinformation and well edited media mediums.
(Is it Ironic that Zion controls 90% of the media?)
Coupled by a deaf Jackasses' ability to reason.
America is single handedly carving out entire
new areas in the vastly undiscovered terrain of
political self destruction and double talk.
We cannot survive another hundred years going
at this rate? Not a snowball's chance in hell.
Our government has successfully duped itself, and
all of its citizens along with it, into believing
the impossible. Over and over again, for as long
as one can go back into our short history as an
industrious nation.

Is this a new phenomenon?
Not at all, in fact every great democracy and or
republic since the dawn of time has committed
the same naive mistakes. Including the greatest
known empires that there has ever been. Greece,
Rome, France, England, the Huns, just to name a few.
Whether they knew it, or not. Believe me, in the
end they could have smacked themselves for not
catching on earlier before it was too late.
Psychologically, a government should be maintained
from it's origin much the same way a child is.
It must be nurtured, educated, cared for, trusted,
and most of all self sufficient, and respectfully
wise as it gets on in its years.

What is this great mistake you might be
asking yourselves? Simple, it's the inability to
lead by example and keep your word. Without
forgetting that not everyone else feels the same
way about the same things at exactly the same moments
in time as you do? You might be asking
yourselves "Yeah, well what can I do about it?"
And as long as you keep repeating that lazy half
assed typical American excuse in your mind
Will be exactly the same amount of time that nothing
about this great country ever changes.

For Christ sake, if a bunch of loaded hippies -
- managed to open the eyes of the American public
forty years ago and force our government
to take responsibility for its actions?
Why can't we? What is it going to
take? Losing your Mcdonalds, and MTV, or losing your
constitutional rights? Because, you've already lost
a great deal of the latter without even knowing
what they were -- Or what they meant to the couple
million soldiers and patriots that died so that
you might better appreciate who you are and what
you have. We are Americans, and we need to wake
up before it's too late. Why allow the world to stereo -
- type who you are by the actions of officials who
don't hold your or America's best interest at heart,
but rather in their wallets.

An excellent write with some fantastic points. Even though I pretty much agree with most of the points made I like that you have not tried to force your opinions. America in my own opinion is a spoinled child among the nations of the world. Though there are some great points about this country it is very obvious that not only the government, but the people of the United States are being irresponsible and taking the wealth of this land (stolen land) for granted.

Thanks for entering. Best wishes. ~genielassie~

    True, Sane and Wonderful.

This is a realistic, truthful introspective account of the reality about USA. Sane warnings are often ignored, but those who ignore them do so at their own peril. I differ on two counts:

    1. You give US 100 years. That is too much. I see the end of hagemony much sooner, maybe 30 years.

    2. It is not a poem.

a lot of bull my friend.... and obviously you never served in the armed forces... or had to really protect yourself from evil. When a car is carjacked... the police help you out.... when your house is invaded you pray for intervention.... but in your mind it is ok for a criminal, who was on death row, to take over a country. That is very convenient... because it wasn't your country the criminal took over. Criminals are in fact criminals...regardless of level or magnitude....and need to be taken down for the benefit of all. The strongest person should try to do that.

Saddam was in jail on death row when he broke out. He came back, killed the government officals of the time and took the country over...... how does that differ from carjacking, house invasion or any of the rest of it? He is a criminal and a swat team needed to take him out.... and kill him in my opinion.

Everyone complained around the world that we WOULDN'T get involved in the war against Hitler...... finally we did and it is a good thing actually. Now, we get involved ahead of time ( a little earlier) and everyone is going "wow the USA is a bunch of people that interfere. How do you answer that hypocrisy?

If I see a child being raped.... I will interfere. If I see someone hurting you, I will interfere...... and when I find twenty thousand childrens graves.... I will kill the son-of-a-dog that did it..... did you see the photos of those graves?

That's what makes America great today.... we're the kind of people that believe in something... and do something about it.

Cher.... failed ninth grade.... and tells us what to do. Alec Baldwin was thrown out of his university...and tells us what to do...... the far left are out of control..... and everyway....

It's time we have a center... a culture.... a belief system... and stop turning our heads to the pain and suffering in the rest of the world because "it's not hurting me"....attitude. When a person is put in a meat grinder.... I just cannot watch anymore from the sideline.

I suggest you move to some of the other countries for awhile...live their in "peace" and try not to lose your fricking "head".........

Other than that.... I like your article. It's very well written and attracts involvement....which is the most important thing we could possibly attract to save our country and work toward humane goals world wide. Nice job.

I think a few people have mentioned this before, but the sheer amount of information and twisted facts that you present leaves the reader riveted to the screen. Even though the flow was off a bit and there were some grammatical mistakes [it's okay, I'm awful with grammar and spelling as it is], these little errors didn't really take away from the essay itself. However, I especially liked the part where you described today's modern day executive, running around smoking and screwing, all in time to have a nice purchased dinner when he gets home. Now, while some of these may be exagerations [and a lot of them are], I still love the way you presented your ideas and was not afraid to post thoughts that may have offended other people. I'm not sure if this entirely focused on our president either, but I still enjoyed the read. Bravo, and thanks for entering

This is one of the saddest yet most articulate thing I have read on this site. When you are focused there is a power that runs through your prose like few others. This is very good writing. Even if some would not agree with you, I happen to agree with pretty much everything stated here, many should read this for it's structure, anger and sheer frustration for a situation that almost borders on the bizarre. This should not just create waves for gentle discussion but for everything this site represents in free speech and art.

Well done, this is a credit to any writer who aspires to lift above the mundane and beige of safe writing. Good on you!

It's interesting that you haven't yet gotten any "rah rah America, how dare you criticize, soldiers are dying for you" comments. Maybe not enough promotion.
Not being American, I will reserve my opinion about the content of this piece. What is good is that people such as yourself continue to ask questions, albeit rhetorical ones.
The questions, however, are not new. I would be more interested in answers, for a change. And re the hippies: it was their asses on the line, with Viet Nam and the draft; it was very real and personal. You can bet the revolution would start (again), given the same scenario now.
    Thanks for posting.

There's been three world wars? lol must have missed one. America is not the only nation to have dropped an atomic bomb, just the only nation to have dropped one on PEOPLE.
The purpose of government is to stay in power. And what pulls the people together better than a war? Governments tend to stay in power during a war. Afterwards, well that's a different story. Oh, you forgot your nations prediliction for coining new words. Not to mention sueing people for almost nothing. I believe barbed wire was one of yours too.

Another incredible write from you, as always, but the title says Essay which means that you must supply a Works Cited for the vast amount of information that you are allowing me to read and participate in...without that, I apologize, but it just becomes a propaganda statement like all the rest.

The facts that I do know I cannot refute, the other facts I will have to research (it is not that I doubt what you are saying) but you left no substantial evidence to back it all up. I applaud you for this and like all your works, quite the piece of writing and a lot to ponder and think about.

Hmm, as I read this, I could say that I agree with some things, yet disagree with others. Heh, a typical reaction. Perhaps I`m afraid of the truth. *covers her hears and yells, "Can`t hear, can`t hear!" Hehe...I`ve noticed that a lot of Americans these days are so bloody pompous and stuck up because they know NOTHING of hardship! When TV came out, it ruined us all. So teenagers are growing up listening to rap and watching MTV. And we wonder why the generation seems so crappy. And the way we go after other countries for crimes, yet we do not look at our own damn selves. It`s good that we fight evil in other places, but, can`t we open our eyes and see what`s happening around us?! I can`t even stand going to school!!!...Blegh...

    EXCELLENT!!!

The only thing missing from this essay is the Illuminati, and the building of over 133 underground cities for America's elite when we self destruct. Now this is more like what I have learned from you young man. You are an educator, and you can't educate people if you turn them away from the onset. Excellent visionary information here. This was written like a great paper to be submitted to higher ups for understanding of what makes America, America. I love your work and want to read more, just don't offend me in the process. You have a wealth of talent and knowledge. Keep sharing!

Where'd you get all these crazy ideas? listening to too much rock 'n' roll, i bet. the devils music it is.

overall, a very binding, central idea can be drawn from it, synergy of sorts; equalling more than the sum of its parts. some of the piece was much more poetic than the rest. the citizen of this nation' stanza was very powerful, as well as the last stanza. heh - it seems like people forget what sacrifice is. it seems all the minds left that want to change the world refuse to give up from their own lives what is nessacary for that too be done. cool write, and good luck.

ps loved the lines buy crack fuck your mistress..etc and you wrote it so calmly. there is hope after all.none of us seem to like governments we all want love and peace. its very ironic how we keep voting them in. only unfeeling people can run for governementss real feely type people would die from the stress or we dont have enough ambition or we are too arty farty and cant stand the world let alone get out there and fight in it? What is really going on? They are dteremind to hang onto their power and their money and we work for them and they give us these grand shows and propoganda and do the majority of us all fall for it? We think the telly is real. Is it the telly that is the opiate of the masses? the media. the news. where is the real truth? Its on these pages to a few. yep...those who do not speak out support the system. america is part of a system we are all to blame for america being the most insane frightend country. a cousin of darwin founded the eugenics movement in britain that then led to america sterilising its mantlaly insane people and then that led to germany exterminating all people that it believed in nature would have been nautrally exterminated anyway because of faulty genes. its all like a viscious circle. When tribes were small each would raid the other to show some sort of show of power. If one tribe got too big and went too far then it upset the natural order of things so the others would gang up against it. America is frightening the world and stupid britain is helping. What has changed and how have we evolved? nothing and when are we going to evolve? evolve has the word love in it.
there is no love. nothing has changed at all. we are still all barbaric. where are our elders that we look to for guidance ? who do we respect and feel safe with? None except a bunch of hollywood plastic people and some sports stars. Capitalism and the machine age. we are all conditioned and brainwashed into working for them. a world where people feel for each other wouldnt allow people to be rich. it would be a disgrace when others are starving. rant rant.
it is a god quest a god complex. Is everyone on this planet totally insane and getting more and more insane as we get deeper into this shitty lifestyle we have created for ourselves?
there is no such thing as god. and there is no such thing as karma.if only we could start to realise there isnt a god and start to help ourselves.
