I wanted to leave
deep marks on you
a tattoo of my being
painless branding
eyes alight in response
to your stance
the way you held
your body open
to the world
attuned (to this)
your controlled
exuberance moves
me to watch
carving impressions
willing to feel you
desire coiling
restraining
from putting my
hands
and mouth
just so
(I am not
disappearing ink)
Author notes
I was thinking about someone I had met recently who left a very strong impression on me, and how difficult it was to "do nothing" in response to his impression - it was a very trying experience!
