Falling

Perched high atop your pedestal
I had once admired you
Felt that you represented everything
That was pure and true

And then the order
Began to break
Had you ever even thought
Of what you had at stake?

For now you're falling hard, falling fast
Tumbling down your mountaintop
To the jagged rocks below
Barely breathing when you stop

Now when one glances your way
There is only room to shake head in scorn
No longer can they admire
This saint they once adored

Whatever happened to you
And your vision corrupted?
All hope is lost
I can only pray you'll find repentance

    Good write here

I see a young man or woman so adored and loved and then it seems overnight from one decision made has fallend from grace it is so sad but in life this is how people react to such decisions .And today often never forget it and leaving the young feeling they can never get that same love back again

People tend to disappoint the ones that they love the most.. It's like we really can't help ourselves..
You did a lovely job in expressing yourself..
This was full of emotion.. Thank you very much for sharing.. Best of luck..

Elevating someone to a pedestal can indeed be all wrong.
We are all human and subject to falling, failing in the eyes of our admirers or believers. Thought provoking write. Thanks for entering and good luck.

Disappointment in someone we once admired is very painful...they never are able to stand as tall as they once did! We all know someone who has fell off that pedestal!

    great poem and good luck
