Behind every man
is a good kicking.
A broken paving stone,
banana skin,
a patient problem waiting its turn
to trip you up and
trample underfoot,
a brazen soul with
deserved pangs of displeasure,
to close the show
or pin to a wall.
Take its turn to
have its turn
and enjoy its turn in
trampling underfoot
a loving soul
which cowers beneath a
heart full of promise,
that fails to function, with each beat,
a pulsating waste
redundant mass,
stolen by lies
blamed quite rightly
for others pain.
Please tell me what you think

Martin
This is - well - I've done this to people. We are all the same really and have the same needs. Shame we keep kicking each other. You are just so mmmmm. OK. Your turn now!! big hug and smile, debs and AND, I'd applaud twice if I could. So there ! -
Wonderful
Aww, what a great poem. So full of terrific images that really to hit the mind. Very well done.

i really
love this
"banana skin..."
that was really good
-
it is refreshing to see every poem is giving an insight into new awareness....yours too....

"a brazen soul with
deserved pangs of displeasure,
to close the show
or pin to a wall"... I like the imagery here & though I often complain 'bout the double standard in society, I can see how women have it easier (sometimes)
'xept I hardly get what you're trying to say in the final stanza... hmmm~
Thanx 4 checking out my stuff... TC<3

Behind every person
Is a different person with a wholly diffent agenda. Don't worry. We will all have a quiet and peaceful time eventually. It's called death SO, BEFORE IT GETS US BOTH ....... HERE'S A GLASS FOR YOU AND MOLL. OH, AND EVEN HER MUM. X -
We all are culpable
to a greater or lesser degree. We say, 'if it were perfect we'd never have done what we did with him/her' It's impossible to stay for a HUNDRED YEARS in a place we can't be (OK - me - I'm still here by dint of ennui - do you believe me Martin? Only cos the worst happened before the kids I suppose.... No, actually) ah the ennui........ entrenched and stultified
)) {does that mean big brave smile?} x

Being a journalist ...
you can most certainly relate to the cause and effect of actions ... And: you have penned a powerful social commentary.
Well done, Poet.
Blessed Be.
