Oh Danny boy, I fear your pipe is calling
And this time you will not deny your greed
The summer's long with your addiction falling
The sweet smoke is the poison that you need.
I'm looking back to when life was so simple
And wishing for those bright days to return
If you would bend, and realize you don't need that
Then, Danny boy, you would be better off.
And when I come and find you prostrate, dying,
When you are dead, and I am left alone,
I'll place a joint where e'er we leave you lying
Because to you, no flower ever shone.
To you who hear, and quickly tread around me
Believe that dreams will always come to pass
Please never fail to love them before they leave
Like Danny boy they might vanish eerily fast
Like Danny boy they might vanish eerily fast....

I have no idea. It is 6:11 am and my logical mind is sleeping, which makes for pretty good poetry.
Hope you enjoyed it

Thank you
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! We had to sing Danny Boy as our final exam in chorus, and it got the song stuck in my head. I figured re-writing it might get it out, and it worked!!
