Not what you think

Alone she sits,
for however long it takes,
ever mindful of the need to fulfil the promise.

Dark fleeting shadows,
once omnipresent,
receding with the fading of the sun.

Flowering heads,
twisting and straining,
Desperate to acquire every last vestige of the warming rays move as one to give the impression of a travelling sea of saffron flavoured tranquility.

A wash of calm reflective tones,
soothing as the words come crashing to the fore,
an all encompassing reminder of the things most important to life.
