Perambulate the paranormal
Perpetuate the parapsychosis
Somnambulant we suffer
The Star-Scream
Of a galaxy torn apart
And feel only the light
Warm upon our faces
As a sun goes cold
Life & Death & Time are all we have
See one thousand faces
Remember one
See one hundred thousand stars
Remember one hundred
Orion chases our dreams
Across the sky
Pursued ever by our nightmares
Life & Death & Time are all we know
Lucid, we tribulate
To traverse the astral
Transcendental truancy
Of the Terrestrial
To alleviate our bodies
The burden of our souls
Yet Still
Even in enlightenment
Life & Death & Time are all we find
Funny really,
How most of us never wake up at all.

I really like this. It's unique and it makes you think. I like the alliteration of the piece and it flowed nicely. Thanks for sharing.

I like this a lot. The alliteration and generally the whole flow of the piece remnd me somewhat of Bono in Across the Universe, which is good...
Thanks for entering.
Stay sick.

Yeah, Bono is my least favorite part of that entire movie, that coupled with the fact that songs now get refered to as being from "Across the Universe" instead of by "The Beatles". But I'm glad you liked it.

"The Star-Scream

And one day our own sun will explode and grow cold. Glad I won't be around! Seriously though ... this is a wonderful poem, full of stunning images and ideas ... not to mention the alliteration.
Favorite line ...
"Life & Death & Time are all we have"
I love this!
Good luck in the contest.

i think this is amazing, I really don't have that big of a vocabulary so this just expanded it.(yes, i had to use dictionary.com for help)

wonderfully expressive word play, painting starry night across my imagination, like van gogh transferred to language. Very creative and imaginative use of language makes this a joy to read. Excellent job.

Some interesting thoughts and images that you use in this excellent piece... Love the closing couplet, as well.
A wonderful poem, well-deserving of a gold trophy. Thank you for featuring, best of luck in the contest. -
Wow! That last line just really put this over the top for me. I loved the word choice in this. I guess we really are all dreamers, but that's how we survive in this cold harsh world. Great poem!
