I.
Touch is always known. Cells
seek it from birth. The first
thing a body would know:
will someone hold me?
We can learn inner
peace through a vocabulary
where the layers of touch are
richer. Learn to be alone
without being lonely.
II.
When the wind swirls
I see your eyes seeking
me. I know even my dreams
will be about you touching
thigh, hip, shoulder, lips.
Fingers: message centers.
Touch no matter the distance.
When we are apart
I am with you.

Such wonderful memories the human touch leave us with. You know even the touch of and old cat use to cause my grand to smile. This is a dyanamic piece and has a soft sultry picture vividly in view...excellent poem...I adore this read......

We want to be loved and cared about. Touch affirms that. We want to be able to live in a world that we can share with. Touch makes it possible. Thanks for your insights.

The tips of fingers feel so much through them, it is not imagined, the tingle is there when you reach out in the dark and feel warm breath on them. It is the kiss from afar.

The title is fabulous, and provides the perfect draw into this exceptional piece. As with all your work, the imagery and emotion are brilliantly communicated. You take us from the basic desires at birth, and show us those needs never change....they simply evolve. "Touch;" still the basic language of love. Beautifully executed, my friend. Leaves me wrapped up in sighs. I love it!

I read a book back when I was studying psychology. It was called Touching. It described how premies survived better when parents and other loved ones touched and held them. Our strongest memories may be related to our sense of smell but our heart and sense of well being is related to our sense of touch and being touched. Something as holding hands can change everything.
