It Was the Light of the Day

A new house was what I had just bought.

  Mom helped trim it out.

Orange in the kitchen,

This will do wonders for you.

The orange glowed right on through.

No matter what time of day.

  Then came one night.

A storm was causing such a fright.

I turned on only the kitchen lights.

The storm caused no more fright.

Mom always knows best.

Well this was only one colors,

She  had painted in my house of many rooms.

  The rainbow with blue halls,

And you don't want to know any more, please.

OMG! You brought back a wonderfully funny memory with this whimsical write. My mother did the entire finished basement in "Pumpkin Orange!!!" Orange bar top, orange counters, and yes....even an orange furry toilet seat cover! I'm giggling so hard right now! This is great! Thanks for entering, and Good Luck!
