Escaping Matter

What do you want to eat?

It doesn't matter.

What do you want to do?

It doesn't matter.

What is the why of this?

Do you not care anymore?

The silence between us is deafening.

Longing looks out the window; seeking escape.

Sadness has replaced the love that once glittered in your eyes.

Will you really find the peace you want if you should runaway?

Baggage travels with you.

It cannot be left behind.

I have no space within me to store your baggage here.

Stay or go.

It doesn't matter.

a clever way of writing this, i like the questions throughout. A different approach but i liked it!

it portrays a lot of emotion, and you have done it well. It reads like it was easy to write, but i can imagine it wasn't.

Thanks for entering and good luck!

Is this a poem about longing for the guy or saying screw you and don't come back? I'm not trying to sound rude or smartassy or anything... but yeah... I mean, it's a good poem... but I don;t think it's quite what I'm looking for... sorry. Keep up your good work, though.

    very impressive

I'm impressed by the piece's simplicity and emotion it comes across as casual yet deeply personal. baggage travels with great line.

It really does get to that point where it doesn't matter. I think this indifference can cloak anger at the other person -- passive aggressiveness.
