So many years lost
trusting in all you said
Only to fall on my face
Swallowing down this harsh reality
You never really knew me
I lived a lie for years
I was set up for failure from the beginning
I just couldn't see that for myself
The dust has settled now and
my vision no longer clouded
I see whats real and whats not
years of my life wasted on you
In the end none of this matters
I walk away a different person
A better person for all I learned and lost

This is wonderful, thanks for sharing.

This is deep
and i know it well
you enter in with the best intentions, knowing without doubt that no matter what those niggling feelings inside say
its all gonna be okay,
then one day you wake up and smell the roses...
baby girl
you nailed this

I tried so hard
And got so far
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
I had to fall
To lose it all
But in the end
It doesn't even matter
In The End By Lincoln Park
If that does not inspire message me
