I have nothing to disappoint you with.
No free will or independence.

I can not run, there is no path for me to cross.
No refuge I know of.

I have books that tell of walks on water
But I am me, mere mortal.

I can not touch the sun's rays.

No matter how they reach for me,
I live in shadows.

    This is great. I really loved reading through this,especially the lines, "No matter how they reach for me / I live in shadows".
