I want to be done
to have no more tears
or sorrowful verses
that shakingly weep your name.
I am weary of hoping;
of missing your touch
or your velvet voice
caressing my ears.
I now must learn
that joy in your words
and the smile in your eyes
no longer are for me.
my mouth will stay silent
though my heart is screaming
starving to be heard and comforted.
I'll learn to keep it muffled
so you'll no longer have to hear.
I'll silence myself
to keep you from knowing
how it devistates to lose you.
