Roads End

From my eternal sleep all worries cease
To escape the reality of pitiful hopelessness
Longing for nothingness
No longer in the games
Nothing left save wrinkled shell
cracked and weathered of age.
What once was inside doth no longer reside
Love of hope and hope of love
no longer attainable.
Roads end looms just ahead.

Pace now quickens in hopes of journeys end.
Last farewell to friends and family
All that has failed me in life
I seek for you.
Tear not for me for I've shed enough.
Worry not for worries now stop.
Where I walk none shall follow
Alone I've come this far
Alone I'll end.

My broken heart scattered amongst the years
Where I go there is no need.
With now tearless eyes I see roads end around the bend.
Breaths now shorten by final climb...don't stumble now!
So close to roads end.

Darkness gently falling about
past loves linger longest.
Their voices echo in the stillness.
Eyes ahead don't look back!

All is done here at roads end.
Darkness complete now silence abounds.
Alone I've come alone I am

                  No tears shed

                                    Not even over me....
