Permission to forget

Heavy eyelids
hang like portals to the past
slipping like sapphire memories
into slowly evaporating puddles
beneath this monochromatic face I used to recognize
as my own.

Winds blow through the windows between worlds
and leave us here
alone on the sidewalk
without a way back home
like the hearts outside of heaven

forever shivering
in hell

until you let me go.

Wow! I can feel a ton of emotion in this write! Very heartfelt.

gosh, these lines really had me think. Such abandonment. I think I can relate to this, feeling left behind or in a place I did not want to be, but could not help myself. The last line even hit home for me. I get the feeling of being held down, against ones own will. Lots of struggeling going on. Very emotional. Thank you for such a write

why do we wait for permission? i think thats what makes us "shiver in hell" its fucked, i hate how sometimes love turns into a prison cell for us when it doesn't go our way anymore. yes it seems selfish, but then again where does something truely become selfish...??? sometimes its hard to draw a line...
