For it mirrors not their need,
Their words garbled went unheard to my ears,
Taunting me to return to the grays,
The distant echo’s leading nowhere,
Draining my existence.
In a never ending circle.
I the stone and they the lake.
I await the dusk its freedom.
A vast reflection of inspirational colors,
Radiating an ache within,
To ask of its return?
Chilled by the dark,
The day cried upon the sea,
And I was alone again.
Author notes
I chose your poem
Notice.
The line (I stare at the sunset no one else notices.)
Simply because your poem pulled me in, to the grays you see within the sameness of your every day life. And the meaningless words trying to hold your attention to the reality of the mundaneness that you yourself see within it all.
Yet the sunset you think you take for granted because you see it every day..
But the beauty of its setting, so quite and tranquil in the distance asks?
Of you nothing at all.
Your mind and senses to think on it as insignificant, yet your heart pulls you towards it.
Because it represents a promise, that there is something else, something with real meaning within the beauty of it.
It breaks the spell of your dissatisfaction and lifts the weight from your heart for a moment, in the promise of a better tomorrow.
And.
Sunset!
The line (A vast reflection of inspirational colors)
My second choice to strengthen my belief, that the sun does indeed radiate a light within your dark.

Ooo, this is a wonderful poem!
I like your use of imagery,
and other poetic devices that I can't really think of the name of right now though I really wish I could because I don't want to sound silly...
But HEY
This is a great write ♥
The sun does indeed radiate a light within your dark...
Beautiful.
