A Tree in the City: My Silver Birch

My silver birch
shivers light through leaves,
catches rain at pearl point,
tosses boughs in wind waft
and spatters the sky
with shaken green.

Author notes

I live in the (recently dubbed) City of Brighton. I planted this birch outside the sitting-room window.

    Cute and elegant.
Makes me want to go plant a birch tree in my backyard.
I wonder what my parents would say if i did that..

    Beautiful writing.

You do love your little tree!

There must be a Brighton or two in every anglo-nation.
'catches rain at pearl point' is eye-catching. Pretty poetry.

      Hallo Kevin
and thank you so much for reading and commenting on this one. It has been a bad 15 months for me one way or another and I've nearly emailed you a couple of times. That nearly is just not good enough, so I shall email you over the next two or three days and really make contact again. I love my little tree too.
