Time won’t take you by the hand
and blaze a bold new path
But he will shine a light on you
unveil a sullied past
Time won’t help you find true love
no matter where you search
Yet when you’ve lost that love you'll find
he stole your bride from church
Time won’t make you wise or wealthy
his check’s not in the mail
On judgment day he’ll call collect
from 1-900-HELL
Time won’t be your friend, indeed
unless you’ve hidden well
The secrets that you wish to keep
‘cause only Time will tell

A Godsmack
As someone who tries like hell to get to church and fails on a regular basis, I'm afraid of what;
"Only Time Will Tell"
I pray quite a bit but my works are few and you know what they say about that...
Regards for a poem to ponder on!

Time may bring the golden hue ...
in youth you did not have a clue;
and comes with time the wisdom sought
so often in life's prime is nought ...
Lovely poem, Poet!
Good luck in the contest.
Blessed be.

Good one Leo!
I liked the reference to 1-900-HELL in this. I hope I never get that type of phone call. I think this is the bill collector's phone number. Nice was with the words! THANKS!

Nice galloping little ballad containing some great funny lines!
An interesting take on Lyndon's poem!

I believe we all hold an allotted time in our hands and what we choose to do with each moment dictates the hills and valleys in our lives. I love the reference to "1-900-HELL", that's a time I do not relish, even knowing the sinner I am and have been. Great work dear man!
Always ♥

the essence ...
of this poem is pure and well-shared. Let time wait for no man as his spirit seeks the path to eternal peace. joy

-
It sure does, doesn't it?
So it's best to lay it all out in the open. See things for what they really are, and realize we only put ourselves through time.
