Conversing With My Muse

Missing image

Acquired thought, a drive to understand -
philosophical reflection of who I am,
and the deeds bestowed upon my life
by human spectacles of a great facade;
the lust, deception, and power plays of men,
amid lies and pain, again and again;
all things beautiful, all pent-up desire,
and blessings lost in the rain of fire -
in company with the body, the soul expires
and a ravaged mind attempts to explain
what it is that it will never gain;
wisdom, virtue, and purity inside -
I stand as witness to a great divide,
while nature devours in her own sweet time.

Author notes

They live in the fantasies of their mind,
And I have found where darkness lies
Within their heart, which serves to remind
That my hope is drowning, as it dies...

  • What refections you have here Cyn,
    You know them so well, a lady not to be messed with. A lot of learning in these words and so strongful also. I am sure many women can relate to this brilliant piece.

    My friend

    Such powerful words steaming with disappionment about life. Perhaps with good reason as at times I think we all sit and reflect as to why? And I the cynic never see a light to comfort me. Boy you got me thinking now

  • Oh what a lovely heartfelt piece this was to read. I felt the words and it made me cringe at the thought of man and his rough ways. Born to fight and work the fields he loses his way with calloused hands. Believing this is of all importance, while leaving you there to stand. A wonderful piece all my best wishes.

  • I really like the changes Cyn
