Wandering worn stepping stones
to ensure you do not slip...
Clambering over boulders
is not difficult with grip.
Slipping into darkness
despite the warnings left unheeded...
Clarity will come only
when from this you've retreated.
Drowning in the toxic slime,
you stepped into when you were blind...
Light a candle before you swim
in swamps of any kind....
You do not know what you can find
until you brighten up your mind...

Hmm, somehow I feel this prompt deserves more worthy words - however I've written several poems on the topic and so tried something new. Hope you like it!!
