At Reconciliation's End

I cannot help but simply smile,
Seeing you come to me.
I am willing the extra mile,
To run to you to see.

Kindling cold embers of long-lost dreams,
I bearly hold the thought,
I always want to see how your eyes gleam,
What the Lord has wrought.

I remember you, long-lost friend,
As I remember my heart.
I remember my love didn't end,
But just seems to re-start.

I want to see what I could do for you,
Help you along the way.
Lead the way to what is true,
All I need do is pray.

Just let me stand on the side-line,
I will cheer you on.
How the Lord will make you refined,
And raise you like the dawn.

Allow for me a little rejoicing,
From you I want that gift.
Some harmless praise I'll be voicing,
Healing any rift.

Time will end as will our lives,
Yet we are always friends.
These hearts of ours will always thrive,
We both will live in Him.

Author notes

"Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation."--2 Corinthians 5:18-19

"And above all things have fervent love for one another, for 'love will cover a multitude of sins.'”--1 Peter 4:8

Love and peace are only through love of Christ, and our hearts can only hold love for others if we carry our heart full of love for Christ. Another lovely piece, Bob. Patricia
