Life is not about weathering the storm
It's about learning to dance in the rain!
So said the old man, spitting away,
As he leaped into forgetting all his pain.
But I could see his tear roll along,
While he hid them in the throng of waters
I saw him in show of a dance
Cover his weary and hide his falters.
Why the act of showing false?
Why I asked him the hundredth time,
But not does he answer while dancing away
Pretending that he be hale and fine.
Turning my back I paced away
And into the storm I plunged,
Ripping it away with all I held
For the victor's cup I lunged.
We met that night both worn out
Both drenched in weary pain,
Yet one held a smile so bright,
While the old man sneezed in disdain.

This is great and well thought out. I love it, especially the next to last stanza. Bravo! Shancy.
