Haunting Me

It haunts me,
Like a face hidden in the shadows,
Waiting patiently for the right time to pounce.
It follows me,
Like a quiet jet black jaguar,
Staying just far enough to where I cannot touch it.
It ruins me,
Like the treaturous winds of a tornado,
Destroying everything within fifty miles of it.
I stalks me,
Always just beyond my shoulder,
Like being on the run from someone who can read my thoughts.
It chases me,
Like a gorgeous female cheetah,
gliding after its first meal in months.

It haunts me in my dreams,
Around every turn I take,
It ruins everything,
A constant reminder I can't escape,
I cannot get free,
From it's expert trace (on me)
It haunts me in my dreams,
Pulling me apart at the seems,
It ruins every thing,
For me.

It hits me,
Like three thousand tons of water,
splashing on your body after a twenty foot drop.

It crushes me,
With the jaws of a great white shark,
Breaking every limb in my body,

It breaks me,
In two right at the seams,
Like the scissors of a well trained seamstress.

I'll never escape it,
It won't ever leave me alone,
I cannot outrun it,
It won't leave me alone,
I just want to escape it,
But it never runs out of breath,
It's not animal,
No person,
No angel,
Or no spirit,
It has no life,
No conscience,
It's in the mirror,
It my past,
That haunts me.
