Cats

Like shadows
They slink through the darkness
All-knowing eyes
Gleaming in the moonlight

Crouching low
The hunt is on
Survival of the fittest
They follow their instincts

Loving and playful
Feared and lethal
Two separate worlds
One animal

The symbol of misfortune
And yet also of beauty
They pass through our world
The creatures of the night

Please tell me what you think

Although I don't care much for cats they certainly have their niche in the orderly scheme of nature and amongst humans as well. Besides without the title, you could be describing certain members of our species too.

    Sincerely,
