You tore my insides out
With each stab and every lie
You made me live in doubt
A heart broken into a
Million tiny pieces
And a shattered soul was all
I had left with no release
I thought I could never love again
But infidel can't you see?
You taught me valuable life lessons
And essentially set me free
For now I live in joyful bliss, a phoenix risen from debris
Author notes
This is about my ex who literally broke me down so bad I thought I couldn't go on with my life let alone ever find love again. As bad as it sounds, I ended up being swept away by his best friend who now treats me the way I should be treated. My ex taught me everything I DIDN'T want in a guy, and my boyfriend now is everything he never was. Needless to say they are now very close friends any longer.
