Wearing your diploma as a tie,
Your I.Q. as a vest.
Haughty and Vain.
So Superficial
So condescending in your speech,
Such a swagger in your step.
But you fail to realize,
Here you are, mocking me,
But You’re still here too.
You haven’t reached perfection,
Haven’t reached the top.
Not even close.
You jeer me for being
“Still here”
But where are you?
You’re not there yet,
So obviously you’re still here.
So stop and reconsider,
Your snotty superiority.
You’ve so much left to learn,
So much growing still to do.
Plaques fade with time, Certificates burn away,
Unimportant. Insignificant.
Action speaks louder then education.
You can paint me a picture of words,
A sprawling landscape of beautiful scenery.
But can do nothing with it?
All your thoughts,
Your currents of spiritualism and philosophy,
Mean nothing.
Because you’re still here,
Here where you began.
And since you’re still here,
Then you obviously haven’t reached “there” yet.

Nothing, there is nothing wrong with here. I am not the smartest, not the best athlete, not the prettiest, whatever. But all i have to say to those kids who think they are better than you just because they are more popular or got a better education is Fuck you. Its bullshit. There is no measure on how far you can go by things like that. As a matter a fact i personally like where i am. Dont ever let those stuck up pricks EVER tell you they are better than you. This is an amazing poem. Great write.

I appreciate this vent poem as the type of thing I mutter when really offended by the unbelievable arrogance of so many of the denizens of the city where I dwell, Cambridge MA. With Harvard at one end of the street and MIT at the other. Greater Boston of which Cambridge is a part, boasts 154 colleges and universities. And boy, do they boast. One can hardly get past the intellectual bullshit when Yale comes to town. Unfortunately there is a dearth of common sense and courtesy. What can be done with an educated fool. People here don't seem to grasp the difference between knowledge and intelligence. Your complaints are justified, accurate and well put. More! More! Nice work. -
