Desert in the mind, arid, bitter, bedeviling in cactus goblins,
cerebral camera captures blinks in surreal sepia snippets,
developed in mental darkroom by the soul's chemicals of light and dark,
creating splendor's focus or vision of vile swamp, colorized by emotive gloves.
Vault of sugar thoughts and bittersweet expectations opened by the lips,
able to sing a psalm among thickets
or dirge in emerald plains of euphoria scents.
Heart's cheerleader roots in the inner gymnasium
not for victory nor to ascend epiphany's bleachers.
But to sculpt the spectacles for seeing every day,
treasure and trash becoming collectibles stored in memory's warehouse
transformed by attitude's night watchman
into either mint or mausoleum.

Deeply metaphoric interpretation of the quote shared here, showcasing your gift of wordplay in the process. A rare piece of eloquence in this modern age, well done.

A lot of great metaphor in your piece that really captures the essence of the quote... "creating splendors focus or vision of vile swamp".. and those last two lines particularly stood out for me...
So very true, it's all about attitude isn't it! I tend to view the glass half empty, need to work on that!!
Amazing write!
