The whisper of the ocean breeze on my skin
Is bitterly cold and numb, almost excitable
Taken up by the soft sound of crashing waves
The water is at peace, this clear night.
I immerse myself within the beach sand
Which is also glacially cool and smooth
Beneath the vast stars of the universe
Where I am drawn into a cosmic canvas.
Passing through absolute phantasm and ingenuity
I break free from every trouble here on Earth
Taken into an endless abyss of oblivion
No one can take me away from this place.
The freedom of the ocean and the heavens
Released from the pressures and stress in life
There is no paranoia here, there is no pain
Just me and the sand
and the waves
and the stars.
Is bitterly cold and numb, almost excitable
Taken up by the soft sound of crashing waves
The water is at peace, this clear night.
I immerse myself within the beach sand
Which is also glacially cool and smooth
Beneath the vast stars of the universe
Where I am drawn into a cosmic canvas.
Passing through absolute phantasm and ingenuity
I break free from every trouble here on Earth
Taken into an endless abyss of oblivion
No one can take me away from this place.
The freedom of the ocean and the heavens
Released from the pressures and stress in life
There is no paranoia here, there is no pain
Just me and the sand
and the waves
and the stars.

I really enjoyed the last three lines. The imagery in this piece is wonderfully created. Congrats on winning the bronze.

Awesome job! It sounds like it was a very peaceful night just lying there gazing into the heavens. I went to the beach recently too but it was in the middle of the day and it was anything but cool except for the water which was downright freezing. Lol. Great job!

Great imagery here. I live by the Jersey Shore, but was was raised in South Padre, Tx, and vacation every summer in the Outer Banks, and needless to say, I love the beach. Everything about it. It's a place where all my troubles seem to slip away, and seem so small when propped it front of the ocean. I get from this poem that you know exactly what I mean. Wonderful job.
