A Long Year

A long road
we have stuck together
trusting each other's thoughts
thinking that
we'd be friends forever.
How wrong were we?
Foolish kids
playing alone harp
humming a tune
almost the same.

A long path
we walked together
hand in hand
sharing the evils
of the world
hoping for a better
tomorrow,
but all is lost
the path
had a fork
in it
and we split.

A long year
its been without
my trusted friend.
a lone tear
I'll shed for you
hoping you
see the light.
One day
we may travel
the same road again;
One day
our paths
may add up;
But for the time
I'll stay
on my side
of the board
hoping...
praying...
begging...
for a tomorrow
with your trust.

Wow its funny you mention friendship breaking up for a year and stuff because I just experienced it now, but now him and me are strong again. So..

This poem is identifyable and I like the flow, you did a very good job!
