Blue Feathered Peace Maker - Tribute To Blue Heron (English Sonnet)

Missing image

Amongst my totem friends you are the one
who guides me on the path of inner peace.
Surrendering, I say “Thy will be done !”
and with those words, my fearful thought-waves cease.

You teach me that the peace I seek outside
resides within the depths of my own heart;
while concepts act like weapons which divide,
love’s nectar will unite what seems apart.

Blue aura of serenity surrounds
those whom you mentor through your peaceful ways;
their mountain-like tranquillity astounds.
Your silent guidance on my quest I praise.

True yogi, balanced on one leg, you stand.
One-pointed presence shall let peace expand.

Author notes

blue heron is one of my totem-animals, so it is particularly dear to me ...

This is so beautiful! You make the most 'simple' things so special with words. Every living being become great when you write about.
    Lovely thoughts in lovely verses.

A gorgeous tribute to your calming totem...
I feel this one especially due to the 'tones'
involved. Graceful and aware, this one speaks
clearly to spirits who listen. Blue

A beautiful tribute to peaceful majesty of the heron, they are a work of wonder as they move with such grace and slow purpose. This is beautifully rhymed with a spiritual aura throughout.

I guess this bird is a role-model for me in a certain way ... with increasing age, I am learning to walk, move, speak and think slowly ... this brings a lot of peace, and when it is necessary to (re)act really quickly, it just happens perfectly and without agitation ...

thank you so much for stopping by,

I read in awe your magnificent poetic rendering of this bird and its meaningful place of esteem in the spirit guide realm. So peaceful and serene as I pondered the significance of your words and admire the poetic form you have employed to convey these thoughts. Well Done!

    "...Blue aura of serenity..."
So evocative of the aura of maa,
    striving for peace, assimilating
    the calmess of the wondrous
    "blue feathered peacemaker."

    Elegant!

until this contest, I never really knew what the blue heron symbolizes as a totem-animal ... he is one of mine, but this doesn't mean I have consciously grasped his gifts yet ... thanks to magiclady, I have been able to receive guidance ... finally ...

thank you so much for cheerleading

    Love knows no bound

It is lovely to see someone to look at nature's teachers so keenly. Calm mind like yours perhaps only can do that. Those who find friends in creatures have extended their domain far and wide. Their love is not only to human beings it is as much for lovely birds as you have so beautifully depicted here, my sister.

I am almost ashamed to admit that I find it so much easier to communicate with animals than with humans ... they don't have the barrier and filter of the mind, and they don't wear masks neither ... they also seem to understand without the necessity of words ... the wild animals capture my thoughts, while my pets are somehow "deaf" to telepathy, maybe they are too domesticated already ...

thank you for your most appreciated visit, my brother

This bird is a beauty. I sat silently one day for more than 30 minutes, as a heron stood by the water's edge. If I had moved, he might have, but we shared that time.
Your sonnet captures the stillness of complete attention, very beautiful to read.
