Fire of her heart's inferno
left smoldering in disillusion,
dream's fireplace once stoked with romance's potent kindling,
now lies with embers flickering in haunting memories,
from his letter of goodbye, so indifferent, still twisted in her head.
Droplets flow from grief and pain of rejection,
mixing with the flume of sorrow's ashes
staining her heart in pale hues of expectation,
bleached is her soul's negligee in tears without passion's pallor,
tomorrow's laundry of hope washed in unrequited love's detergent.
