All that is left to give is
nothing; A big absolutely nothing.
The reason, well, I'm stymied.
Mesmerized by your audacity
to expect any more...
My being fragile
meant not a blessed thing to you.
This gradual declining of our bond
has now led to our finish.
There is no longer a bond,
thence, there is no more to give.
Perhaps, you should cherish what was.
Relive our 'bond' in cascading memories.
For the quality is gone
and there's nothing left to build
quantity upon, there is no more.
No more smiles, or tears.
Sans satisfaction, sans delight.
Our flights of fancy well now
anchored into the ocean's floor.
What's left for you, I do not know;
But for me, well, I have a date
with myself, and a bottle of champagne.
Author notes
I used a combination of two options; I used the title option and six words from the word bank; and the words are as follows;
reason, stymied, mesmerized,fragile, gradual and champagne.

I felt the flow stumble a bit in this piece and that you were repeating yourself a little also, having said that, I do see the message you were trying to convey - about feeling a certain emptiness inside after love has waned and trying to move on from it.

a good poem, aye, set free the past and celebrate what is here and now with bubbles flying up the nose to bring giddy grins.
