I'll take on your enemies
one by one
or two by two
whatever.
Rearrange your props,
increase your legal tender.
Decorate your heart
in love's free colours.
But, I won't let you strip me
Water your garden
until its plush and bloomy
sparkle up your home
make it airy and roomy.
Polish your wares
with delicate wax,
sing your songs
to your tune's delight.
I can't let you color me blue
Navigate my way into your heart's shore;
giving my time until there is no more.
Swing-shift for you on jobs you hate.
Turn away any and all unwanted dates.
Linger in your thoughts
until the light bulb comes on for you.
These are just some of the things
I'd be all too happy to do.
But, you can't rip me apart from inside
out, like puzzle pieces
Turn off the light that dwells inside of me;
for you didn't put it there
Spin me witless in the washing machine
of your making, or in one anyone else has made
You can step on my suede shoes,
or, break one of the many love 'rules'
forget the umbrella
letting my newly done hair go flat;
there's a multitude of things; you can do,
but, you just can't do that.
How can I continue loving you
if I am diced into pieces?
Piled mile high on the floor?
Waiting to be swept up and dumped?
I draw the line at being broken;
and/or being for you only a token.

This reads like you could put it to the tune of the prompt's song and is very well done. Love, C
