These muscles mean nothing
if fat covers them
like dirt hiding gold
its only valuable if you remove the dirt.
Yet like everything
whats underneath the underneath
is still more hard to be rid of
the pain does not go away like the weight.
They can't see it
even the smiles give away at some point
like radioactive waste which poisons the area
the doubt slowly kills all joy.
Though this may seem to be
the lowest point
for which there is nothing below
it ironically only covers the thing which can not be corrupted or destroyed.
These diamonds that crystallize deep down inside
which form over many lives
show us that if we keep looking over our shoulders for salvation
we will miss the most valuable substance laying inside our own chests.
