An Angel's Melody

Darkness has fallen,
the first angel of the night
is falling from the gates,
her wings taken from her
never to be returned.

I lie there in the cool grass,
listening to the crickets,
and the whispers of the wind,
my thoughts wholly on you.

The angel’s sad melody
spins through the air,
singing of a love once lost
and a love once found,
singing of her soul mate.

A smile plays upon my lips,
at the thought of having
found a soul mate of my own,
of finding you my dear.

Diamond tears roll down
her pale, ivory cheeks,
as she goes on to sing
of her fear of losing
her loved one again.

The angel's sad melody pulls
at the strings of my heart,
hearing an angel sing of
the fears I have left unsaid.

Darkness has fallen,
the next angels of the night
are falling from the gates,
their wings taken from them
never to be returned.

I lie there in the cool grass,

and the whispers of the wind,
my thoughts wholly on you.

The angel’s sad melody,
soon becoming a choir,
all of the fallen angels,
singing of a love once lost
and a love once found.

Sharing, shed diamond tears,
the sun slowly begins to rise,
and the angels melody fades,
into the night with the stars.

The angels last fading words,
echo my own silent whispers,
to the setting full moon.
"For eternity I will love you,
and not even death will part us."

    I really like this write.
    It has a lot of emotion put into it, which I can definitely appreciate. The imagery of angels crying and losing their wings is touching. thanks for entering.
