Life's Paradoxes

Life is a familiar nothing,
And I relish the emptiness.
The lack of anticipation,
The carelessness.
It is so freeing,
Yet I feel bound by the impassivity.
Entirely able to do whatever I please,
Yet shackled by the lack of limits
That I have placed on my impassionate wrists.
Contradicting my very own thoughts,
I aim to free myself of this freeing place,
And replace it with a place of limitations
So that
Once again
I may be free
To be a slave to my own ignorance,
And liberated from my arrogance.
Life will no longer be full of surprises
And worries
And fears
And doubts,
But will only remain to be empty,
And an empty life is more calming
Than a fearful life.
So I am grateful for nothing,
For life is a familiar nothing,
And I relish the emptiness.

Love the way you started your piece, and circled around to finish it with the same thought. Great piece. Thank you. I love your line as well.

    Much Love

Great write. I totally agree in the fact that we get so many choices yet so few at the same time. We're told when we're little that we can become anything we want, yet we only have one President, only a select percentage become rock stars, and so on. We're told we can do anything, but we can't, we're limited by our abilities and what others allow us to do. You can't just decide to live in a house without buying or renting it. Well, you can, but you soon get kicked out. But whatever. Great write.
