Hour glass inverted
the sands of time fall fast
life flies ... home at last.

What a very beautiful piece. It is short sweet, and to the point. Beautifully done, great job and keep it up.
Always write from the heart

I just love this. Its so relevant to me personally.
Also very well written.

-
eloquent lines in perfect consonance with title and background. Beautifully crafted.

A beautiful remembrance! Also a beautiful background. I agree with Swan song..this lingers and grows in your mind.

This is profound and will need to contemplate it more.
Good poetry is like wine you have to savor the taste a while before you judge.

The sad tone is hard not to notice here but I also felt a sense of acceptance--free and without regret. Home at last. That to me suggests that it was a life well lived, a time well spent. I think the biggest testimony for that is a son braving to reminisce that day--however sad. This is really beautiful and touching, and the lovely yellow roses I see here go perfectly with this piece. I just offered a prayer for her. - joy

It's a strange world ...
everybody dies. If you live long enough, you just outlive them all. I've outlived nearly everyone, but my father is still going strong. The ornery ones seem to last longer.
My mother wasn't the ornery type.
I hope life is treating you better these days.

Wonderful.

The piece felt melancholy even before I read the author's notes. It makes me feel as though she is the one who has finally reached home, and her children are racing to join her at the end. It's a nice piece.
