The light in your eyes has faded away
There is nothing I can say
The warmth of your arms is no longer there
I beg to feel it once again as I whisper a gentle prayer
The gentle kiss from your lips has gone without a trace
Oh how I long to see your face
The love that we shared has disappeared
This is the very thing I feared
The brightness of your smile has been dulled
The pain I feel can't be lulled
The softness of your touch has been taken from me
I wish there was somewhere I could flee
In this life, you were so very young
But now you're gone, and your soul is forever lost behind the sun

i love this poem. i love the very last line...so sad.

I like how you incorporated the title into the last line, and I absolutely love how effectively you used the rhyme scheme. This almost sounds like something I could have written.
Thank you for entering my contest!
