she felt like, an easter egg.
painted gray with little dots here
and here.
"if you throw it into the water, it floats like---"
rain drops and a door slams, pregnancy shirt stretched over
stomach vacant of child in womb,
no pink sticky fluid to keep warm underneath covers.
and he leaned in, hair fell into place beneath teeth,
she pulled onto the curb
and flattened herself into matchboxes.
"pertaining to yesterday, i think it's better if we---"
"i don't want to know."
then the lips fell in clumps around our
feet alongside the bones
and
broken teeth with bits of food
still clinging to them.
and she said it was alot better than sitting home-
because the tv was all blacks and whites,
and she kind of
missed
the gray.
Author notes
so the red painted the road like finger paints
the sky broke apart in pieces
and he looked at her with her
empty bits of questions.
[i'm sorry i thought i could do better.]

"rain drops and a door slams, pregnancy shirt stretched over
stomach vacant of child in womb,"
