Love Surrendered

Step softly...
on my egg shelled emotions
when next you speak to me.
Your goose stepping wit
will be my end if you march!

Whisper words of love
for I’m a delicate little flower.
Don’t embed me,

with trusted commitment
Unless the love you give, equals
The love you hold for yourself.

Let me cry upon your shoulder
when my pain lies naked
in plain view, to the world.
My tears of uncertainty
have formed far to many

pillars of salt in my heart.

Show me your selfless side
for all I’ve shown is mine.
Become the standard of strength, I need
when my conviction of will has failed.

The time has come to cast down
your shield of fear and replace it
with a blanket of love
that will cover and protect us
until the sun set’s on our lives.

I love this poem! Each line is graced by a poets touch but this one in particular sums it up for me.

Causes a yearning in all the hearts of those who have loved and been loved.

As always I am impressed with your creation.

Some great choice of words here and I love the topics covered, I think more people should listen to this advice especially about loving yourself before you can love others.

This poem is very easy to identify with, and very well put into words. There are some beautiful images and metaphors in it, I especially loved the last verse. Small thing; you have a few commas in it that slow the flow down, try reading the poem aloud and see if they would work better elsewhere.

I like your creativity in this piece, it's sweet and seems straight from the heart of the matter (love). It's honest and relatable to many peoples stories, so well written!

It's a little confusing, but sometimes life is confusing. Good write, and I'm going to read over it a few more times till I completely get it. Good luck in the contest
