Dust settles
on the ghosts
of good-bye,
dust settles
onto you.
Love's gentle breeze picks you,
through all thick and thin.
Skin turned pale, with least to say.
Lay bare and stripped, i felt
dealt with the pain of your loss.
Sweet memories adorn
my mind, as valour's worn;
tainted by sweet innocence.
Giving rough cuts of silence
cakes, handed to those that care.
Longing the times of past,
ghosts are the memoirs.
As ashes spread our great loss,
so too, the adornment
of the most lonesome good-bye.

Thank you for taking the time to enter this poem in my contest, this was the first poem I read from you, if I remember right. It has a special feel for me and I appreciate that you entered this.
It is still a lovely write and you did well in expressing yourself.
Thank you Jezz, your kindness will be remembered. -
This breathes with such finality...
it is the most sorrowful goodbye to be
said. 'Ghosts are the memoirs' and hopefully,
they can bring some relief too to the
feelings of abandonment. Thank-you for sharing.

This poem is darn good. For some reason your words hit me like a hard fist, right in my face, affecting me.
