I'll tell you all a story
about a lonely mouse
She cleaned and cooked all day
never ever did leave the house
She married a mean,old cat
when she was very young
He wouldn't let her have friends
or play and have some fun
Each day he would yell and fuss
he'd call her bad names
She would run to her bed
crying; "why am I to blame?"
She had done everything
to make his house a home
He'd stay out all night
on the city streets he'd roam
Years went by and nothing changed
then..I'm not sure when
He came slinking home early
and asked her where she'd been
She smiled with the cutest grin
"I went for cheese and wine"
Down at the local grocery store
where someone whistled and said, "she's fine!"
I stopped in my little tracks
"was he talking to me..no way!"
I haven't felt that beautiful
forever and a day
And so the story goes
she left that mean old cat
They say it shocked him so
he froze right where he sat
So if you want to see
a cat that's made of ice
His ghost will come to you
if you don't treat your mouse nice

Thank you for this very cute story poem in our contest, it was a pleasure to read. Your rhyme was a little awhward in places and the flow could have been slightly better, but overall an enjoyable read.

That was so adorable. I loved the rhyme and flow... they worked very well together. This piece makes me want to yell at my cat.... grrr that kitty was a poophead.
