The oxygen atoms in this world are enough
For sustaining the shadows of our existences
Like the rainbow loving the rain itself
Always the love, but always late for the job
An endless persecution, yet it ends with numb
And faint encores of the world's refusal
I wanted to be the rain, washing off your dirt
To take your hand and share cookies and despair
But I don't regret the path of destiny
Pulling us to the point where I can only stare
Endlessly seeing you, wondering if it could be different
Author notes
I may not be able to dry your tears anymore, but we'll always be standing beneath the same sky <- Used as a prompt. Hitting close to home... I exceeded in one line, mom. I'm sorry.

Hmmm... I can see why you won the gold trophy in the other contest. This is bittersweet and tender, a most delectable concoction. Thank you for entering, and good luck.

You just made me cry. This is so deep and brilliant in both metaphor and meaning. So intensely penned my son... x
